5:30 pm - 8:30 pm. This course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.

Class will meet June 1 through July 27 on Mondays from 4:00-8:00 pm in the Bevill building on the Shoals campus.  

***Students MUST attend Orientation on Monday, May 18 at 4:00 pm in the Bevill building on the Shoals campus. 

This course fulfills the seventy-five (75) hour Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) requirements for training of long-term care nursing assistants in preparation for certification through competency evaluation. Emphasis is placed on the development of the knowledge, attitudes, and skills required of the long-term care nursing assistant. Upon completion of this course, the student should demonstrate satisfactory performance on written examinations and clinical skills.

5 pm - 9 pm. This course equips participants with the skills to respond to medical emergencies using basic life support (BLS), first aid (FA), and automated external defibrillators (AED). Training covers CPR techniques, injury and illness response, and effective use of an AED, preparing individuals to act quickly and confidently in critical situations.

5-6 pm. *Please note there is a separate AHA fee for the online portion of this training*.
